Here are the steps:

You can schedule your first session either during the call or once you decide to start.

You’ll receive a login link for the session.
Attend your session at the scheduled time.
-
The sessions are 50 minutes long but billed for 60 minutes. This includes time spent on notes and other admin tasks relating to the session. Sometimes, longer sessions can be requested/recommended.
-
Once a week is recommended, especially at the start of therapy. Later, it can be reduced as progress happens—to once every 2 weeks or once a month.
-
Progress varies for each person as emotional and mental health work take time. Most clients stay for 4-6 months or even longer. Therapy is collaborative and not just about the 50 minute weekly sessions. Being honest and engaged in therapy, practising what you learn in your daily life and applying new skills leads to better results. Clients who actively do this see more progress.
-
A full fee will be charged for cancellations made less than 24 hours before the appointment or for no-shows. An earlier cancellation could make room for someone else seeking support.
-
We may have a meeting with the parent(s) in the beginning, or the teen can start sessions directly. After the first session, if the teen is comfortable, joint sessions could be planned based on the treatment plan or for updates. Of course, everything discussed is confidential, and confidentiality is only broken if the teen is in danger or for safety reasons, as outlined in the consent form.
-
You'll need to add a credit or debit card to your profile. After each session, your card will be charged, and you'll receive a receipt. If you prefer to pay by e-transfer, the payment must be made within 24 hours of your session. If not, your card will be charged automatically.
